Walk: 'Craignamaddy Nature Walk'
Craignamaddy is a ridge that rises between Glenelly and Owenkillew valleys, behind the village of Plumbridge. It provides a vista on both valleys and an upland bog rich in biodiversity. This walk will be lead by an expert in local flora and fauna. It will focus on this unique habitat and finish in Plumbridge Village for traditional refreshments.
Distance: 10km
Ability: Moderate/ Bog and Hillside Walk.
Suitable for those with average levels of fitness who have hiked before.
Minimum age for children is 14 and must be accompanied by an adult.
Meeting Point: Watts Bar Plumbridge
Start Time: 10am ( Please arrive no later than 9.30am)
Transport will be provided from meeting point to and from the walk start/end.
Duration: 5 - 6 hours - Break for lunch (Please bring own packed lunch and at least 1 litre of water)
Participant Consent/Medical Forms to be completed on the day.
Hiking boots are essential wear and waterproof clothing is highly recommended. Organisers reserve the right to refuse admission if not fully equiped for the terrain and conditions.
