Killeter: 'The Bright and Beautiful Walk' ( Easy)

Walk: 'The Bright and Beautiful Walk'

2018 being the 200th anniversary of the birth of Mrs. C.F. Alexander - the famous hymn writer who wrote hymns like 'All Things Bright and Beautiful' and lived in Killeter from 1850-55 while her husband was curate in St. Bestius Church of Ireland, has sparked an immense amount of interest in the Killeter/Aghyaran area. So much so that the 4 churches came together to develop the 'Bright and Beautiful Campaign '. One of the outcomes of this was the creation of 4 community gardens - one at each church - based on one of Mrs. Alexanders hymns. This has paved the way for a unique walking route around the 4 churches to visit the gardens and get a lot of historic information along the way about the Parish.
