Walk: 'Local and Neolithic'

A range of interesting Neolithic sites and monuments can be encountered in the landscape around the town-land of Killeter from Crilly’s Hill to Seegronan. This walk will explore some of these sites and the story of the Neolithic period when Ireland was settled by its first agrarian inhabitants. What are the significance of the sites and what is their legacy on the landscape and people in Killeter?

Distance: 10km

Ability: Moderate/ Hillside and forest tracks. Suitable for those with average fitness levels who have hiked before

Duration: Approx 5 hours ( Break for lunch. Please bring your own packed lunch and at least 1 litre of water)

Time: 10am Transport will be provided from meeting point to and from walk start/end.

Please arrive at registration point no later than 9.30am to begin the walk.

Participant Consent/Medical Forms to be completed on the day.

Minmum age for children is 14 and must be accompanied by an adult.

Hiking boots are essential wear and waterproof clothing is highly recommended. Organisers reserve the right to refuse admission if not fully equiped for the terrain and conditions.
